Hi Alois and Pingskills

i have almost dominate the RPB, but is very difficult to me add this stroke in middle of a point. Generally i hit the ball with the classic penhold backhand, what i can do for eliminate this backhand of my game and wear more the RPB?

Besides i am worry for the position of the forehand topspin off backspin, for the side of my forehand. I play a lot of with my forehand, my footwork help so much, i attack the backspin balls from the side of my backhand with the forehand very easily, but the balls that come to my forehand side complicate me, generally i can't hit it and if i hit it goes to the net (backspin balls), maybe the position of my legs is not the correct, but i don't know...Please some advice.

Thanks

Hi Cristh,

There is still a place in the rally for the regular backhand.  You will notice that the top players use this in the rally a lot.  They mainly use the RPB against a backspin ball near the start of the rally or to finish the point with a strong backhand topspin.  In a fast rally they will usually use the regular backhand because it is a bit faster.  Don't try to use the RPB too much just when you feel comfortable with it.

When playing the forehand from the forehand side think about your feet position first.  Make sure you are moving over to the forehand side and you are in a balanced position.  This means that you need to get your left foot across as well to get yourself balanced.  Often players that are very good at pivoting and playing a forehand from the backhand side will struggle with the wide forehand.
