My opponent always put me off guard by making his serve faster and sometimes he always return my strokes back to me even faster. How can i prepare to counter it.

Hi Mark,
By watching the ball closely you will get the earliest information where it is coming and will enable you to react a bit faster.
You should also think about keeping the ball low so that it is more difficult for him to hit the ball faster.
