hi coaches,
i know how to receive a corkscrew but it come backs long and third attack is followed,how can i return it short? the same thing with backhand tomahawk.
and also during a topspin to topspin rally my brother uses side spin should i return it with topspin or block it?..... usually our rally last up to 8 hits.

Firstly with returning the sidespin serve of any sort, use a very relaxed wrist and do't give it any forward momentum. This will help you to keep it short. Then aim to keep the ball as low as you can over the net.
For the topspin to topspin rally, you should topspin it back if you can. You can either use straight topspin or put a bit of sidespin yourself. See which works best. The other thing to think about its to get the ball to their backhand side where they aren't as good.
