Hello Alois,

i have a problem to play powerless short or middle long Balls without Spin. If i play such Balls softly with a little bit of Spin, so it works. But so i cant geting the Point of the Rally. If i try to play such Balls with a harder Topspin so the Ball is going in the Net or outside the Table. I think it is right to play a Topspin against such Balls and not trying to smash the Ball. But what is the Problem, that i cant get the Ball on the Table?

Thanks. Rico

Hi Rico,

Try to play this ball with more topspin.  Since the ball is shorter you have less time and space to get the ball up and down over the net so you need more spin.  Utilise your wrist with the backhand flick to generate more spin.
