Training
Hi Alois/Jeff,
This is my second question and thank you so much for the Video response for my first question (Joo Se Hyuuek chops).
I am a 24 year old IT professional from India with a long standing interest in the game, but started to receive coaching recently.
Coaching is for 1 1/2 hrs every Saturday and Sunday, but I don't get to practice much during the weekdays due to hectic work schedules and not having a TT table around at home. Please suggest ways or drills through which I can practice at home and learn faster. Wanna hear from you soon.
Thanks,
Tejas K.
Hi Tejas,
I think it is important to do as much as you can but you also need to take into account your life balance such as work.
We do have a lesson on Practicing Alone that may give you some ideas depending on your level.
If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!
