Strokes
Hi PingSkills
It has been a long time since the last time i visit you. After several months playing table tennis, my coach come again and he said that he will teach us again this June but three weeks ago, he came and play with me.
He said that I play table tennis too rough that's i always keep attacking and cannot wait to end the point so it makes me be greedy to attack even the ball is hard to attack so i lose my points. He told me to play softly and calmly but it has been my habit to be aggressive...
So, i have some questions to ask
First, why we must play softly and calmly and don't be agressive and greedy of attacking? Please tell me the advantage and disadvantage.
Second, how to break my bad habit so that I can play softly?
I know when my teacher come he will teach me but before that i just wanted you to guide me...
Please answer my questions, thank you very much.
Hi Frendy,
Focus on consistency. It is important to be able to hit the ball with control before starting to play too fast. That is probably what your coach is wanting you to focus on.
In this video, we dive into the forehand push, a crucial defensive stroke in table tennis that allows you to control rallies with effective backspin. We break down the three key concepts—start position, feet position, and finish position—to help you execute the stroke with precision. You'll also learn how to adjust your bat angle to generate varying degrees of backspin, depending on the spin your opponent imparts on the ball. Finally, we'll guide you through practical drills to enhance your proficiency and consistency with the forehand push, ensuring you're well-prepared for your next match. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your technique, this tutorial will provide you with the tools to master the forehand push.

I see
So, is it because of my bat or what? Now i'm still using my custom blade with yasaka mark Vad and i can't feel the ball when i hit it so i don't have a good control on my strokes
Should I change my bat? If yes, is it better to change to pre-made bat or another custom made bat?
No it isn’t the bat. Just work on your consistency.
