What should be my main playing style if I'm an allrounder?

Hi Tim,

In general players will attack when they get the opportunity even if they are more of an all round player.  They probably have a better defence than the all out attackers.

When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.

Very good one,

i see an analogy to the technique of the counter.

technicly it’s actually a slight topspin. If you hitting a flat hit just above the net there is very soon a speed limit to the real flat hit so you meet the slight topspin. That’s why the correct technique is a Alois teaches.
