 Hi Alois

I am a none league player but last night i joined a summer league at my local club. My first match was against a Attacking Chopper, who normally plays in our second division.

Although i was given 4 start (handicap) i found no matter how i returned the ball it came back to me.

What is the best way to play against this type of player?

Hi Thad,

Well done on joining into the competition.

The attacking chopper can be awkward.  The key is to keep them on the defensive by placing the ball well, usually into their backhand side.

🏓 Tip 1: Learn why playing more shots down the line helps your partner stay in position and how a well-timed cross-court attack can still surprise your opponents.
🏓 Tip 2: Discover the power of serving short and close to the centre line to reduce your opponents’ attacking options and give your team the advantage.

These small adjustments can make a big difference in your coordination, positioning, and success as a doubles pair.
