How to play against medium pips, particularly Dr. Neubauer killer and super anti butterfly. My daughter is state level player. We are from Baroda, Gujarat, India. She doesn't have much practice against odd rubber. She repeatedly lost against players with odd rubber. So i want to give pratice with odd rubber. I will play with her with odd rubber. So please guide her how to play against both rubber.

Hi Mehul,

The most important thing is to give her as much opportunity to play against pimple rubbers.  I think it is a very good idea for you to play with it against her.

Against the long pimples understand the principle of spin reversal.  If you play to the pimples with backspin it will come back with topspin.  If you play with topspin then it will come back with backspin.  This is the hardest part to get used to because it is counterintuitive. That is why the more she gets to play against them the more times she will see the effect they have on each shot.

For our Premium members we have these tutorials in our Match Strategy section. Playing Against Long Pimples and Playing Against Short Pimples.  Playing against medium pimples is similar to playing against long pimples except the effect of the pimples isn't as much reversal.  They can also hit easier with them.
