Serving
Hello Alois,
About the pendulum service when i practice this service i usually hit it in the net. I want to know how exactly to not hit it in the net or the judge calls a let. Am I supposed to draw back WHEN/DURING I'm serving or there is a better way.
thank you in advance
Hi Caylan,
The best thing is to focus on hitting the ball from a little higher and hitting it straight into the table in front of you. Close to your own end line. This will give the ball more time to take off and get over the net.
The kicker serve is one of our "must learn" serves. It's fast, fun, and has lots of topspin. It can be dangerous because if it's not fast enough and if you don't surprise your opponent then they may be able to attack it forcefully putting you on the defensive straight away. Used well though, and sparingly, it can be a great weapon. It can win you a point outright and it will stop your opponent from standing over the table waiting for your short serves since they need to be ready for anything.
