Pasting of rubber

If we paste and extend an LONG PIMPLES OX rubber on the sides of the blade, is it legally allowed by ITTF, is there any rule specifying this.

Hi Rajeev, You are not allowed to have the rubber over the edges. This is covered in the rules with Rule 2.4.5: The covering material shall extend up to but not beyond the limits of the blade, except that the part nearest the handle and gripped by the fingers may be left uncovered or covered with any material.

Hitting the Ceiling

When the ball hits the ceiling the point is over. You must hit the ball directly back onto the table otherwise you lose the point. In International tournaments the roof needs to be at least 5 metres above the playing surface but in local competitions you might often encounter much lower ceilings.
