Strokes
Dear Jeff and Alois
Whenever i play any counter loop or topspin i am unable to adjust my wrist.
I'm an intermediate Table Tennis player. When I perform a chop forehand or backhand then also I'm unable to adjust the wrist.
I'll be very thankful to you for your great professional advice.
Kind regards
Shreyance
Hi Shreyance,
Think about the amount of relaxation there is in our wrist. Often when we play we tighten the wrist first. This then means that it is difficult to move and adjust the wrist when we are playing strokes.
When you are training spend some time focusing on the tension in your wrist. See how relaxed you can keep the wrist and still maintain the correct technique.
Question actions
There are 3 basic areas to focus on when learning a stroke: 1) The position of your feet. 2) The starting position of your bat. 3) The finishing position of your bat. Of all these 3 elements the finish position is the most critical. Watch this video to find out why.
