Strokes
Hi, we have a table tennis table at our school, and the first time i tried i played with the penhold grip, im now stuck to it and love it, but are there really any techniques you can do with penhold grip that you cant do with the shakehand grip. I've watched your videos and are now one of the best players in my class, so thanks!
Hi Dara,
The penhold grip is easier for using your wrist on serves and some short balls as well. Stay with it, you will be able to reach a high level using the penhold grip as many players have.
Question actions
The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
