Strokes
Hi Pingskills,
I have established a bad habit in my game which is hindering my ability to play forehands. The path of my bat goes in an u shape and i contact near the bottom of my paddle and it the stroke ends with it being really open but pointing towards me. I never had this habit before but now I have it. It is very hard to change, any advice? I try so hard to fix it but it still happens. What to do? I did some practise on starting in the ready position and pushing up but still I end up changing my bat angle still. The result is either a spinny high arc ball, easy to attack, or it hits the edge of my bat or goes long. Any advice?
Hi Nathan,
Focus on keeping the stroke as simple as possible. Slow it down and see what effect the stroke is having. If you find that your current stroke is hitting the ball too high and easy to attack, focus on keeping the ball lower. If you can do this you will find it will fix the mechanics of the stroke that you are looking for.
