Movement Topspin and Drive

Strokes

Hello, Alos,

I have a question about the movement of the drive and topspin.

Even in German I would have difficulties to formulate that. I hope it works in English.

Should the racket stay in one plane during the whole movement?

If I imagine a disc, should the racquet always move parallel to the disc?

Imagine I would cut through the air with the club. Would the cut be straight?

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I like the bat to move through one plane.  This allows a consistency of stroke and contact.

If the bat is changing angles then the timing becomes more important.

Later as a player becomes more advanced you can stat to use your wrist more and then the angle can change through the stroke as we show you in the tutorial on the Advanced Forehand Topspin.
