A few of the great defenders like Huo Ying Chao sometimes play a loop back from the table that is almost pure side spin. Have you ever used this stroke?

Hi Dale,

The sidespin topspin can be effective but it is also a more risky stroke than the straight topspin.

When it comes from a defender the sidespin can add some difficulty along with coping with the change from the backspin.

We have a video on this stroke in our Advanced Strokes section on the Sidespin Forehand Topspin.
