Strokes
Hi!
I have a trouble that I'm quite often miss the ball when I'm trying to do topspin on a not difficult ball (which not low over the table)..is there any exercise to solve this problem?? and the similar problem, I'm failing the hit when touch the ball by edge of the racket.
Thanks!
Hi Alexander,
One thing that I can recommend is starting to focus more on the ball when it is play. We often miss the ball when we aren't focused well enough.
As silly as it sounds, it may also be worth getting your eyes checked. This may not apply to you, but may apply to other readers. I have known a lot of high level players who had their eyes checked and needed glasses. They then improved because they could finally see the ball.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
