Hi Jeff,

I have a problem with the counter topspin the ball with backhand. I can't do it in the right way.

Is there any tips or techniques that I can do at home to learn how to do counter topspin (BH). Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks,

Borrqo

Hi Borrqo,

My best advice is to take a look at the lesson on Countering a Slow Spinny Topspin.  This will show you the correct technique.  Then you can practice this in front of a mirror tomake sure you are doing the technique correctly.

This is a really difficult stroke to learn ad master.  So don't expect to get it right straight away.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
