I have a lot of trouble returning a medium or short no spin ball. I am too hesistant to make a flip every time. For the aggressive player, it is very difficult for me to push it back short. Usually, it is too deep and slight higher than it should be and they can make a winner. Any suggestions?

Hi Jagdish,

This is an awkward ball at times.

In the long term you need to focus on improving your flip or flick or improve your short push off the no spin ball.  These are strokes that you can work on which will eliminate the problem.

For now though if you get this type of ball and you are finding it difficult to flick or push short, then use a strong deep fast push.  This will mean that at least your opponent has a little more difficult ball to deal with.
