Strokes
Hi Alois,
I can loop a backspin ball consistently but in slow speed, but when i tried to loop faster, the ball often go out of table or hitting the net. What should i do to loop the backspin ball faster and constistent ?
Thank you
Hi Ernest,
The key point is to make sure you maintain the topspin on your stroke. Often players flatten out the contact too much when they try to play this shot faster. If you maintain the same stroke as for your slower topspin and just speed up the swing you should start to generate better speed and more consistency.
The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.

Ok I see Alois,
So I need to fasten my brush contact while keeping my stroke vertical right ?

How can we generate more speed in backhand strokes? Is it by wrist or something else?
Hi Utkarsh,
The wrist will help as will the faster movement of the arm and also using your legs more. Take a look at our lesson on the Advanced Backhand Topspin.
