I am a right handed player.whenever my opponent plays the ball to my extreme right fast (even little) i am not able to make a decent return with my backhand.and if i get that ball at my chest height i face even greater problem.how to deal with this?

Hi Rishav,

Make sure you are taking a small step to the get behind the ball.  As a guide, if you let the ball go, it should hit you in the stomach.  Trying to play a backhand from outside the line of your body is difficult.

If the ball is bouncing high, you can move in closer to the table and take it earlier off the bounce before it gets too high or move back and wait for it to come down.

Anticipation

How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.

Yes, I guessed that or thought you may be left handed.
