On today's show, Alois said that keeping a lob low gives the other player less time to respond. But I often see the top players hitting extremely high lobs. Why the difference?

Hi Marv,

When you don't have time to recover it is better to play a higher lob.  This buys yourself some time.

One of the really important things about a lob that we didn't mention is to keep it as deep on your opponent's side as possible.  If you do that, it helps to push your opponent back away from the table.
