Dear Sir,

Well you see, I am a player that grew up playing table tennis without learning the basics. I started playing on my own, the way i felt was correct. But now when i to do loops or the bottomspin they don't go very well. Is it important or more like is it possible for me to go to the basics right now?

Expecting my answer soon.

Hi Sandesh,

Yes it is always possible to learn new technique.  You need to focus on the basics of the stroke and then see if you can perform them.

I have found a way to get players with old habits to change is to get them to think about the stroke as a new stroke completely rather than trying to change a technique, they are learning a new technique.
