Equipment
i want to know how can we determine that its time for our old rubbers to be replaced by the new ones?
Hi Afzaaluddin,
The first thing that will wear out is the surface of the rubber. If you hold the bat up to the light at an angle you will see the pimples starting to show through the surface of the rubber. There will be dots on the surface.
Also you can rub your finger across the rubber and see if it is still grippy. If it is smooth and slippery, it is time to change rubber.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
