How can I raise my power in both backhand and forehand?

Hi Byron,

It's important that you get the technique of your backhand and forehand topspin right. Once you've developed this and can consistently get the ball on the table then you are ready to start increasing your power.

The key is to get your bat moving faster whilst maintaining the integrity of your stroke. You can do this by using all of your body. Especially on the forehand you can start to use your legs, your waist, your arm to really get the bat moving faster.
