Improving the hook forehand

Strokes

Hi Coach. In your tutorial on the sidespin forehand you talk about dropping the wrist. It seems artificial  and obvious when I try this. It seems I do alright when I just think sidespin and try to hit the outside of the ball with a straight wrist. Is it necessary to drop and get well below the ball for a great hook? Thanks.

Hi Thomas,

If thinking about hitting the side of the ball works for you stay with it.  The wrist angle will just help to get on the side of the ball.

Glad that you have developed a good sidespin forehand.
