Hi Owen,

Spin on the serve is a great way to win points.

The main principles are that you should brush the ball when you contact it.  By brushing it I mean just touch the ball or pretend there is an ant on the ball that you are trying to hit off without touching the ball.

Once you get this contact correct then you can start to get the contact much faster.  This will make the ball spin faster.

We have a DVD called Serving Secrets Revealed dedicated to this topic.  You can get it through our website.  It has a whole lot of information about serving in it as well as ways to train your serve to get better.

hi Alois,

i improved my serve a lot thanks to your DVDs and Ask the coach section.

But i must say when it comes to thin/fast contact, you  have never said it better/described it better- hitting an ant on the ball :)
