Recently I played with a person who always serve heavy backspin, i pushed the ball back but got into the net most of the time, then I tried topspin and often flied off the table. What is the best way to return the heavy backspin serve?
Thanks,
Tommy
Hi Tommy,
The best way to return heavy backspin is usually with a short push. You need to keep your hand nice and relaxed on the push to absorb some of the spin and speed on the ball.
If the ball is going into the net just open the face of the bat up a little more.
