Hi Alois,

Kindly advise me how to properly grip the table tennis bat for better stroke making.  I noticed the other day that I was not gripping the bat properly.  I use handshake grip and I am right-handed player.  Even if I grip it properly and start playing, my grip automatically gets changed while playing.  Moreover, I felt that I was not moving my hands freely while playing.

Kindly tell me how to rectify this mistake?

Regards,
Ram

Hi Ram,

The first thing is to put a lot of focus on this during your training session.  Then you may do something like put a coin under your index finger to make sure it is not moving during play.  If it moves too much the coin will fly off.  This will heighten your focus on it.

Also make sure you take a look at our lesson on Get a Grip.
