How to prevent my opponent from scoring

Strategy

Hi Pingskills

One of my friends (opponent) has a special tactic to score:

When I hit the ball a little bit higher, he will flick the ball to my forehand side which forces me away from the table. Then he drop-shot/ smashes/flicks to my backhand side. I loses every single time when he does this.

So, how can I prevent him from applying this tactic?

Hi Felix,

You could try serving more to their backhand corner so they don't have the angle to your wide forehand.

If they get the ball wide to your forehand then go cross court back into their wide forehand.  Again this stops them from getting the angle to your backhand.

Other things to think about is to serve short with more backspin so they can't flick.  You could also try serving fast and long so that the only option they have is to give you a long ball which you can get ready for.
