How can i play a backspin shot and how can i do the backspin serve?
Hi Umer,
Take a look at our lesson on the Backhand Push and the Forehand Push. These will show you the best technique to use to get backspin on the ball.
To do a backspin serve you need to brush under the ball and get the ball to start to spin backwards. If you think of the ball as a clockface, then you need to contact the ball at 6 on the face. You also need a brushing action on the ball. Then get the ball to bounce close to you on your side of the table so it has enough time to get up and over the net.
We do have a lesson on this in our Serving Secrets Course on Learning To Spin. This is available for our Premium members.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
