Strokes
Sir,
I tried and searched for the answer on the site but i did not find the answer
During rally of pushing the ball, sometimes ball goes into net and sometimes goes out of the table. While opening or playing topspin during rally timing is missed due to change in flight of the ball. Sometimes ball comes straight deep on the table, sometimes it comes slowly but after pitching it does not travel much but bounces little up. Here the timing of topspin is missed. Please let me know can I play topspin on this slow ball or some different attacking shot is to be played.
Please guide, Thanking you in advance
Hi Yashawant,
You can topspin that ball. What you need to do is play the same stroke but move your bat more forward to allow for the lack of backspin on the ball.
A backspin ball will tend to stay in the air a little longer and float up. A no spin ball will come through a little flatter. It's not that easy to tell at first but keep watching to see what happens when you hit the different balls and you will start to get the idea.
