How do I attack a short ball?

What are the different ways to attack short balls or return them in a way you will be able to attack them??? thx

Hi Sally,

Your first option is to use a backhand or Forehand Flick. You need to try and hit the ball at the top of the bounce to give you the best margin for error.

If the ball is really low and short, then you may want to push the ball back short and then hope that you get a long ball from our opponent which you can attack with a topspin.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper

A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position.
