Strokes
Hi, how can I make my forehand tospin stronger?
Hi Chee Koo,
The key is to start to use your legs and whole body with your stroke. The aim is to move your bat faster through the contact. To do that you need to use a summation of forces from your arm, legs, waist and wrist.
It is important not to change your arm movement too much. If anything you can get the arm swinging slightly more forward to get more speed.
Once you've mastered the start and finish position of the forehand topspin, you can start to focus on finer details. In this video we talk about the position of your legs, weight transfer, varying the finish position, incorporating footwork, the use of your wrist, and the angle of your bat for the stroke.
