Why some players toss the ball very high during the serve ? Does it helps generating more spin?

Hi Tarun,

By throwing the ball up high it hits the bat faster because it is dropping from a greater height. This means that the ball will spin more as well.

It can also be used to distract the opponent from being able to watch the ball carefully.

Backhand Tomahawk Serve

In this lesson we show you how to execute the Backhand Tomahawk serve. This is a good complement to the Tomahawk serve. By utilising a similar action, it will make it difficult for your opponent to tell which way the ball and spin are going.
