Hi guys,

Your videos have really helped me to have a better understanding on how to do a pendulum serve (Im a better server now). The problem is, that I keep hitting my stomach everytime I serve and it's getting very frustrating (My serves have got a little curve, not any sidespin). Can you guys help?

Hi Kon,

This is a hazard of learning the Pendulum serve.  Try to get the bat to brush against your stomach.  Get th ebat to travel forward a little more.

The fact that the ball is curving means it does have sidespin.  To generate more sidespin, get the action faster.  Really swing into the ball fast as see how much spin you can generate.

#26 - Serving with Placement

Just by placing your serve better, you'll be able to win more points. Think about what happens when a good server plays you. What positions do they serve to that you find difficult. Try serving to similar positions yourself. We give you plenty of time to practice serving with placement in this week's training session.

I meant curving as in, the ball spinning on a vertical axis.

In your pendulum serving videos, the ball spins on a  horizontal axis. It didn't curve, but the direction of the ball did change dramatically. I wonder how you did those serves... I've never mastered them
