Hi Alois,
first of all, yes I have watched your How to return a wide Lefty serve video. But what about a fast heavy side spin cross court (usually on the white corner line) pendulum serve? At the Squad where I train, I can usually beat the guy that does the serve, but the games are always so close because he scores many points with that serve. Just how do I return it?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Ben,
First focus on moving across to the ball and then as it is long, make a topspin stroke. I am assuming this is coming to your wide forehand. Really focus on getting as close to the ball as you can. As it is swinging away from you, the tendency is to hit it too far away from your body.
If you can brush the topspin heavily this will counteract some of the spin that he is generating.
