I am a relative beginner. I have been playing for about 6 months with a premade shake hand bat and want to buy a custom one now. I have already decided on a stiga allround Carbon classic for the blade but am unsure about rubbers. I was considering vega pro and mark v, but I don't know for sure. What should I use for forehand and backhand, and in what thickness? Thanks

Hi Jaci,

I would start with Mark V rubber on both sides.  This will give you good enough speed and spin to start with.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
