Hello guys,

I recently just bought a 260 blade and i really want to keep it in good condition, but the glue i bought (haifu water solubility) sticks the rubber to the blade very strong, and i was just wondering does applying a thinner layer of glue make it have a weaker bond and does the bond wear out over time because i dont want to risk pulling up parts of my blade up.

Thank you

Hi Anthony,

A little less glue will have a slightly weaker bond.  The glue will wear off with time.  In any case when you are removing the rubber from the blade be really careful. Do it slowly and work around the blade till you get to the middle.  You could use a solvent like Turpentine and put some under the sponge as you go along.  This will effect the rubber though so if you want to use the rubber again, just go slowly.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
