hey, could you help me. ive been watching a lot of videos in doing a forehand topspin in a drill (including your vid) but I always make my spin a side spin. A lot of people in my club are telling me that this would make it harder to play table tennis. Can you give me some tips and some important info on how to do this properly. Would really Be glad if i could do it properly. thanks and more support to ping skills

Hi Erwin,

If you are putting sidespin on the topspin, think about the contact point of your topspin.

The most important thing is to get the bat facing exactly where you want the ball to go. Also try hitting the ball a little further in front of you.  Keep your wrist straight on contact.  If you drop your wrist you will get sidespin on the ball.

It is important to try to straighten this out.  When you are trying to hit a fast ball it is important that you have straight topspin rather than sidespin.
