Hi...i am having a problem with the forehand push ...the ball always go outside the table....and i am a novice in this game...and i am from the people who use the rear face of the bat in almost every hits but when the ball come to the edge of the table on the right i hit it off the table how do i treat this problem...thank you

Hi Ahmed,

The forehand push is an awkward stroke.  One thing that helps is to focus on just using your fingers and wrist to make the movement and not trying to use too much arm in the stroke.  Take another look at the lesson on the Forehand Push and try to copy what Jeff is showing you.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
