I have a massive problem with my running forehand.

Maybe you know the running forehand from the Falkenberg exercise where you have to running into your backhand corner and topspin with FH. I always miss the shot (hitting the edge of my bat or not even hitting the ball).

How can I improve this kind of shot in order keep my opponent away from the table.

Hi Malke,

One of the important things is to make good position with your legs before you play this stroke.  You need to shuffle sideways and wide enough so that you can swing freely at the ball.

Take a look at this previous Ask the Coach video response. Forehand Pivot Footwork.

Once you make good position, there is no difference with the stroke from that position.
