Good day coach..

My friend is good in flicking but he is powerful if he is doing the flying flick..and the good thing is he will wipe his racket to change the direction of the ball and i dont know how to block it...

And i want to know to do this so called "Flying Flick" and base on my observation when i do the short ball and higher on the net level he will lunge and at this same time flick the ball and also he will wipe his racket to change the direction of the ball.

Tell me coach how to block this technique and tell me how to do it..

thank you

Hi Reynel,

Try to keep the ball lower.  You can also put the ball slightly longer on the table which will mean that they are hitting the ball from further away from the net.

If he makes the flick you need to really watch the ball well to get the most possible time to see the direction and speed on the ball.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
