Fast low arc topspin to a slow high arc heavy topspin

Strokes

Hi guys

I'd like to know where to focus on when going for a heavy high arc topspin (playing against defenders).

When looking at some experienced players, it looks like they are standing almost 90degrees sideways without rotating the body, using a practcally stretched arm and brushing up instead of forward towards the table. I tried it but feels almost unnatural movement.

Any tips or example footage that would help me along the way?

Hi Thijs,

When playing against a defender you do have a bit more time and that is why players tend to turn more side on to the table.  You still need to utilise your whole body to help you lift the ball.

The upward action held with the fine brushing contact that gives the ball the higher arc as well. It is very much like the Slow Spinny Topspin action.
