Strokes
my rubber's spin has no effect now, but when I generate a drive or a 60 degrees loop, I find my ball spinning fast. I imagine if I use a super speed spin control rubber, I may generate a extreme speed topspin/sidespin.
Now, how can I generate more topspin?
what angle should my racket be?
how will I swing?
what rubber should I have?
Hi Adam,
To generate more topspin you need to have a brushing contact. It doesn't matter what angle you swing at, the important thing is to get the contact right.
Once you have the contact right you need to then increase the speed that you bat is moving on contact to get the ball to spin around faster.
The angle of the swing determines the speed the ball will travel. The more vertical the swing the slower the ball with travel, the more forward the faster the ball will travel.
A rubber with a tackier surface often helps to generate more spin.
Question actions
The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.
