Receiving
Hi Alois and Jeff,
In real matches, I really confused with my opponents' serves, especially to diferentiate between the backspin and sidespin serves. But now, I'm getting used to returning the sidespin because I can see clearly my opponents brushing the ball more sideways instead of underneath the ball. So, I found a way to practice service return. My opponents serves through the match until it's done but I haven't tried it yet. Is it possible?
Thank you very much
Regards, Archel
Hi Archel,
That is a good idea if you are focusing on your return of service. Nice thinking.
After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.

Alright then
How to differentiate between the backspin and the sidespin serves? I see no difference, especially when they're using their backhand. They start up, and finish down below, it really confuses me.
Then you need to watch the contact point.
