I am well aware that there's already a video on how to execute the Malin's ghost serve; however it would be greatly appreciated if someone will be able to correct me on some of my mistakes.

For instance, why the ball keep flying up high when i try to get a fine contact under the ball to generate the spin or else it would be going too low to even get pass the net.

Also instead of coming back to the net, the ball goes horizontally until it falls off the table.

Thank you in advance for any help that you may provide.

Hi Wong,

Firstly try to get the ball to spin directly back to you on the floor rather than the table.

Getting the contact just right is a very difficult skill and that is why you are finding it is going too high or too low.  See if you can get a video of yourself doing the action you will find that it will help a lot.  Film it from directly behind you.  The critical thing is the angle of your racket at the point of contacting the ball.  Often we feel like that angle is correct but at the point of contact the angle changes.  I have found this in a few players in the last couple of weeks of coaching.  This also explains why the ball is going off to the side.  If the end of the racket drops slightly, it will put sidespin on the ball and it will go to the side.

Persevere with it and most importantly watch what happens to the ball after you hit it.  This will give you the best feedback.
