Dealing with dropshot

Strokes

Hi PingSkills Team

I am frequently playing far from the table,so many opponents use dropshot against me.

Sometimes I can reach it,sometimes not.
But when I reach it,I always throw it over the table,no matter of what spin is coming or what stroke I use.

Do you have any idea why it is happening and how to fix it?

Hi DK,

This is a common mistake due to the forward momentum of your body.  A lot of players don’t adjust for this forward momentum of the body as well as the moment of the arm and hit the ball long.  It is something that you can adjust to as you realise that you are hitting all of them long.

OK,thanks,Alois

Now I must just break the opposite movement habit.
(Although I train my footwork every day,I always tend to lean back when seeing a dropshot)
