Hi Balaji,

You should do a lot of training of balls in this area.  So get your partner to feed a lot of balls in the crossover are and practice making decisions of which to use, forehand or backhand.

This is the only way to improve it by doing it over and over.

Watching the ball well will give you some help because you will pick up the direction of the ball earlier.

To improve your backhand put more focus on it during your training sessions. I found that by just turning my feet slightly to a more backhand position, it made me better prepared for the backhand side in general.  Try that one out.

Strawberry Flick

The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.

Balaji i feel you in too much to your forehand side and avoid backhand as much as possible.this is the reason you are weak in backhand.
