Hello PingSkills,

A big problem is to counter topspins which are long because an attempt to counter topspin it always makes it leave the table. The proximity to the body makes it difficult to control. So any suggestions for playing such long topspins which are near the body?

Thanks!

Hi Viki,

With the ball landing deep on your side of the table you will need to move backwards a little to get into a good position to make this counter topspin.

It can be an awkward ball and if you are attacking it is a good tactic to employ.  The key though is movement.  If you can make good position then the stroke becomes a lot easier.
